Transmission Control Protocol

TCP - Transmission Control Protocol is one of the base Internet protocol. TCP is one of the two original components of the suite, the other one being IP, so the entire suite is called TCP / IP. While IP protocol deals with low level transmissions between computers, TCP protocol deals with high level transmissions focusing on extremities like web browser and web server. TCP offers safety in ordering an bytes flow delivery from one computer to another.

Besides web transfer, TCP also includes other applications like file transfer and e-mail. TCP controls the size of debit, rate of data exchange and network traffic.
