In a graphical user interface on a computer monitor a toolbar is a GUI widget with buttons, icons, menus or other input or output elements. Toolbars are seen in office suites, graphics editors and web browsers. (Source: Wikipedia)

They include functions as:

  • Search;
  • Home button;
  • Bookmarks (for browser toolbar);
  • Edit pictograms (for text editors);
  • Formatting pictograms (for text editors)

There are specific functions for each toolbar according to the software, its type and manufacturer.
