Shareware
From Saferpedia
The term of shareware was made popular by Bob Wallace and refers to copyright computer programs available to users for free, in order to be tested. These programs have a limited period of functioning or have limited features. The reason behind this term, is to offer users the opportunity of using, testing and classifying a computer software before purchasing it.
Shareware software are usually offered as "versions to try" with certain features blocked. They will be unblocked after purchasing the license. Software are offered without support, updates or help menus. They become available only after purchasing the license.
