Google Safe Search option

The safe search is a setting that can be found on search engines in order to filter search results of the adult content. The safe search setting is usually activated when there are children and adults using the same computer or on computers that are used only by children in order to protect them from harmful content.

Attention! Safe search alone will not fully protect your children from all Internet dangers! You will need a parental control software so children don't have access to content that is not age appropriate.

You can find safe search settings in search engines like: Google, Bing and other search engines destined to be used by children.

How to activate safe search in Google search engine

Google safe search is necessary if you have Google set as the main search engine and children use the computer. Google search results are filtered by default but there is still an important amount of adult content in the results.

In order to set the safe search you have to click on the "Search Settings" in the upper right corner of your Google screen. It will open a new page with search settings. You have to check the "Use strict filtering (Filter both explicit text and explicit images)" option from the SafeSearch Filtering menu.

After editing your preferences, save them by clicking on the "Save preferences" button in the lower right corner of your Google screen.
