Post Office Protocol

POP - Post Office Protocol is a Internet based application used by e-mail local clients to withdraw e-mails from a server trough TCP / IP connection. POP and IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) are two most known Internet protocols used to withdraw messages from a server. The current version of this protocol is POP3.
