Plug and play

Plug and play (PnP) is a term used to describe a characteristic of a computer bus or a specification of a device which facilitates the discovering of a hardware component within a system without the need of configuration or user's intervention to solve resources conflicts.

Plug and play refers to resources allocation to discover devices and identifying drivers for it and to system's hot plug like USB and FireWire.
