Metropolitan area network

A network of metropolitan geographical coverage (MAN - Metropolitan Area Network) is a computer network with a wider coverage than LAN which is usually spread over a city or a campus. A MAN usually interconnects a number of LANs using an advanced technology like network links trough fiber optics and offering up-link services in WAN and Internet.
