A Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Internet Access Provider (IAP) is a company offering their clients Internet access. The ISP connects with its clients using an adequate data transmission technology for granting datagrams, protocols for Internet like dial-up, DSL, modem, wireless or high speed interconnections.

ISPs may offer users email accounts allowing them to communicate with others by sending and receiving electronic messages trough ISP servers. ISPs can supply other services too unique for each person like data storage for clients.
