Internet Explorer

Windows Internet Explorer (ex Microsoft Internet Explorer) is a series of graphical web browsers developed by Microsoft. IE was included as part of the OS Microsoft Windows starting with 1995. This was the most used browser in 1999 reaching a use pick of about 95% during 2002 and 2003 with IE5 and IE6 versions.
This share dropped in favor of other browsers like Mozilla Firefox.
The latest version of Internet Explorer browser is IE9 which has SmartScreen Filter. The main purpose of the SmartScreen filter is to protect users against any cheating, false notifications, malware and many other Internet threats.
Features of SmartScreen filter:
- Anti-cheating protection: in order to spot threats from web sites that are trying to obtain personal information like username, passwords and billing information;
- Download trust: this feature will display stricter warnings for high risk downloads;
- Protection against malware: this feature will stop the spy programs and other possibly harmful software.
