Interactive Software Federation of Europe

ISFE - Interactive Software Federation of Europe is an independent federation representing interactive software sector interests in Europe. The main interested parts are:
- EU institutions;
- international organizations;
- teachers;
- public.
Starting with 2003 ISFE is responsible for running the rating council PEGI.
History
Founded in 1998, initially ISFE included just national associations of selling national interactive software of Great Britain, France, Germany and Holland. In January 2002, ISFE accepted to include any representative company from all 27 states of European Union including Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.
In 2002, ISFE was registered under Belgian legislation as an international association with scientific and pedagogical purposes. In April 2003, ISFE developed PEGI that became am industry of game evaluating in Europe.
Activities
Main ISFE activities have the following objectives:
- Create awareness in Europe;
- Protecting children by providing information for consumers;
- Providing research/market data;
- Supporting national representative ȋn all EU countries;
- Fighting against software piracy.
