Insafe

Insafe is an European network of national nodes. It coordinates awareness activities of internet safety in Europe. The network was founded within the Safer Internet Plus program and the European Commission. Insafe organization was launched in 2004 and since then it promotes ethical and moral use of online information and communication technologies. Its priority is to protect citizens rights especially for children and young.

Mission
Insafe's mission is to encourage people in using the internet and other online technologies in a safe and efficient way. Network advocates for the protection of the rights and needs of citizens, especially children and young by governs, teachers, parents, media, etc. The network focuses on the fight against racism and spam, specially appealing to end users: parents, teachers and children.
Insafe program
Insafe program has four components:
- fighting illegal content;
- fighting unsolicited and harmful content (including spam);
- promote a safer online environment;
- make people aware about this field.
Insafe partners collaborate in sharing best practices, information and resources. The network interacts with industry, schools and families and encourages people to overcome the digital divide between school and home and between generations.
Insafe nodes
Insafe nodes have the role to initiate awareness campaigns and coordination of national actions and cooperation with important European institutions. In many countries Insafe nodes have integrated national help phone lines:
