HTTPS (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure) is a combination of HTTP with SSL / TLS protocols to offer the option of encryption and secure identification of the server. HTTPS connections are mostly used for online payments and for sensitive transactions in corporative informational systems. HTTPS must not be confused with Secure HTTP (S-HTTP).
