HD ready

HD ready refers to TV receptor's ability to display high definitions images. The term is officially used in Europe starting with January 2005. EICTA (European Information, Communications and Consumer Electronics Technology Industry Associations) was the one to announce the requests for this etiquette and introduced it as a sign of quality to differentiate between display equipments capable to process and display the high definition signals.
