Google Chrome is a web browser developed by Google and uses the WebKit engine and the framework application. It was launched for the first time as beta version for Microsoft Windows on September second 2008 and the official launch was on December 11, 2008.

The name is derived from the graphical user interface. Starting December 2009 the Chrome browser was the third browser widely used with 4.63 market share according to Net applications.
