FOCUS stands for Romanian Center for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children and it is part of the Sigur.info Consortium with Save the Children Romania and Positive Media. Focus was founded in January 2007 as a NGO (Non Governmental Organization), Non - profit and autonomous. Its objective is to prevent but also to participate in solving cases of missing, kidnapped or sexually exploited children.

It's intended to decrease phenomena of missing and sexually exploited children trough: educating children and parents, involving mass-media, supporting efforts of competent authorities and volunteers.

Focus's role in Sigur.info project

In Sigur.info project, Focus is the developer of Hotline (an assistance phone line). The Safernet.ro Hotline is a civil point of contact that receives and manages complaints regarding children safety. Hotline is focused on aspects like child pornography, pornography accessible to children, incitement to discrimination, sending spam, etc.
