FIVES
From Saferpedia
Fives project - Forensic Image and Video Examination Support will develop a easy to use tool of auto-content, that will focus on speed and efficient realizing to help police investigators in analyzing large quantities of data.
FIVES toolkit will allow police and enforcement agencies to:
- Accelerate the manipulation process of very large quantities of evidences from sequestered computers and separation of illegal materials previously known from the new ones, potentially illegal;
- Efficiently evaluate large quantities of new materials using the optimization of perceptual techniques; this has as purpose the reduction to the minimum of human effort necessary to classify new materials;
- Improve the ability to match new illegal images and videos with previously known materials using matching objects and similar image techniques to allow details regarding crime scene to be matched between different sets of images and videos. This facilitates the widening investigations in order to save victims of sexual abuse.
Tools will be based on already existent research and software created by academic partners, extended and integrated in an easy to use tool that matches police's requirements.
