European School Net

European School Net - EUN is a network composed from 31 Education Ministry from Europe and not only. EUN was founded more than 10 years ago, with the purpose to bring innovation in teaching, so informing the key parts interested: education ministry, schools, teachers and researchers.
EUN activities are divided in three activity areas:
- Politics, research and innovation;
- Services for schools;
- Change of educational resources and interoperability.

Politics, research and innovation
European School Net proves the way Information Technology and Communications (IT&C) can support change in the teaching and learning process. EUN identifies proves, best practices and priorities in developing in the education area in Europe. EUN realizes country reports that highlights the major tendencies and the policy in the educational systems of today regarding IT&C. Trough various research projects, network of pilot schools and local coordinators in Europe, EUN conducted studies on topics like using games in schools, safety on the internet, using learning objects, etc.
Services for schools
EUN established a strategic position as a European platform for schools, to make effective use of technology in teaching and learning process, to promote the European dimension in education, developing new pedagogical methods, and equip teachers and students with new abilities and to broaden interest in various topics (mathematics, science, technology, etc.). There are several thousands schools involved in EUN programs. EUN worked especially to improve cooperation between schools in Europe as coordinator of eTwinning European Union the Support Service in Central Europe and promoting European dimension in education (myEurope, "European Spring").
Change of educational resources and interoperability
EUN is at the forefront of global initiatives related to the exchange and digital interoperability of learning resources. With the participation engagement of education ministry and supporting research programs from European Commission, EUN realizes services of Educational Resources Exchange for schools which will allow teachers and students to find educational content from many different countries.
Educational Resources exchange help ministry and other partners to become members of an archive federation. In the MELT project, 16 education ministry from Europe already make available about 40.000 learning resources.
