ENACSO - European Child Safety Online NGO Network is made from NGOs that join efforts regarding children internet safety in European Union.
NGOs part of the ENACSO share expertise and best practice in key policy areas regarding internet safety for children, developing approaches and coherent positions.On this basis, it will forge joint strategies to promote its recommendations to national, European and international decision-makers and also to other relevant interested factors. These recommendations regard also the way of governing the future internet development.
ENACSO Objectives
- Building and developing a dynamic NGOs network, for children in the entire European Union, that have expertise regarding internet safety for children; This network will be the main European contact point to represent civil society regarding children safety on the Internet and while using the new media devices;
- Developing a common approach to protect children regarding new technologies based on NGOs experience in children rights;
- Influencing relevant policies and national, European and international strategies by promoting legislative, technical and other type of solutions that protects and consolidates children rights on the internet. The main purpose is to create a safer online environment for children.
Results and expected impacts
- A solid base for continuous development, durable cooperation between NGOs for all the children in the European Union;
- A common database containing knowledge regarding the way children can be protected in the online environment, common approaches and strategies regarding policies;
- Children protection and their rights will be taken into consideration at national, European and international discussions and into approaches around internet government, computer and internet crime and online safety and security.
