Bookmark
From Saferpedia
In World Wide Web context a bookmark is a URI stored locally. All modern web browsers include the bookmark function. Bookmarks are also called Favorites and Shortcuts in Internet Explorer. They are accessed trough a menu in the browser.
With the appearance of the social network phenomena, shared bookmarks became a method for users to share common interests. Web services based on bookmarks allow users to save bookmarks on a remote web server, accessible from anywhere.
Now browsers extended their bookmarks function to include variations of link save. Mozilla Firefox inserted the live bookmarks in 2004. They look like standard bookmarks but include a list of links to recent articles supplied by a news site or blog usually updated trough RSS feeds.
