Awareness is the ability to perceive, feel, be aware of certain events, objects or sensory patterns. Widely, awareness represents the quality of being aware of something. In biological psychology, awareness is defined as human or animal perception and cognitive reaction to a condition or event.

In Sigur.info project awareness is the activity of making children, youngsters, parents and teachers aware of the risks they may encounter in the online environment and the fact that there are ways to avoid and fight them.

Awareness activities are:

  • media campaigns regarding the internet safety problem;
  • presentations in schools made by project's representatives regarding internet related risks and its advantages;
  • online campaigns;
  • contests for children, where they can express their knowledge over internet related risks;
  • focus groups with children and parents.
