From Saferpedia
AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) is point-to-point channel to attach AGP graphic devices like a high speed video card. This channel is situated on computer's motherboard. AGP cards are used to accelerate 3D images on the computer. Starting with 2004 AGP was progressively eliminated in favor of PCIe (PCI Express). Starting with the half of 2009 PCIE video cards started to prevail on the market but graphic cards for AGP channels and motherboards provided with AGP are still available.
