Saferpedia is an encyclopedia of terms, definitions and resources regarding internet safety, using computer, internet and online or mobile technologies. It is a tool useful to children, parents and teachers.

Saferpedia is realized in two versions: [Romanian version] and [English version].

The Romanian version contains almost 400 terms divided in over 10 distinct categories, the number of inserted terms and definitions growing constantly. Also the English version contains the terms inserted in Romanian version translated into English.

Children and parents may find out details about parental control software, dangers of grooming, what is cyberbullying and how to protect them self from harmful content in certain web pages.

Developers

Saferpedia was realized by Positive Media Romania in Sigur.info project - SaferInternet Romania. Content editing will be realized with specialized and volunteer editors

Platform

Saferpedia is build on MediaWiki platform well known trough the successfully virtual encyclopedia [Wikipedia.org]. This platform was chosen because is very known to online encyclopedia users.

Development

Until now both versions of Saferpedia are available (Romanian and English). It's working at inserting terms and definitions in both languages so users from all over the world may use it.
